Shopping inside Sian Ka’an is limited to small village stores and the new craft shop at Muyil, so residents do their weekly shopping in Tulum. Tulum town has full supermarkets and a curated Mexican crafts boutique within about 20 to 25 minutes of the reserve entrance.

Why we recommend it: The Muyil visitor center that INAH opened in February 2026 includes a craft shop and a bookstore alongside the ticket office and interpretive room. It is the only formal retail point on the reserve’s highway side.
