For the ocean
Sea Shepherd
Direct action at sea to defend marine wildlife and stop illegal fishing.
Our reason
Sea Shepherd has worked in Mexican waters for years, including campaigns to protect the vaquita in the Gulf of California. Protecting marine life here is protecting the place we call home.
Playa Realtors makes a donation to Sea Shepherd every month, as part of Playa Realtors Cares.
Their work
Their ships patrol protected waters and remove illegal nets.
Long-running work alongside Mexican authorities to protect endangered species.
Campaigns against illegal fishing and for marine habitats on every ocean.
Other causes we support
The Ocean Cleanup
Removing plastic from the ocean and stopping it in rivers before it reaches the sea.
Seaspiracy
The documentary that opened a global conversation about overfishing and the health of our seas.
Cruz Roja Mexicana
Ambulances, emergency care and disaster response, right here in Playa del Carmen.
