Why we recommend it: The Greg Norman designed 18-hole championship course opened in 2006 and runs through mangroves with lagoon and Caribbean views. A nine-hole short course by Greg Norman Golf Course Design was completed in 2024, and outside visitors can book tee times.

Kitesurfing on Chacmuchuch Lagoon

Why we recommend it: The shallow lagoon side of Isla Blanca is the area’s go-to kitesurfing spot, promoted by the state tourism board. Several schools on the peninsula offer IKO-style lessons and equipment rental.

Why we recommend it: Ultramar runs the main passenger crossing to Isla Mujeres, about every 30 minutes at peak times and hourly until late evening. The trip takes around 18 minutes, and Quintana Roo residents get discounted fares.

Why we recommend it: The vehicle ferry to Isla Mujeres operated by Ultramar Carga leaves from the Punta Sam terminal, a few minutes from Playa Mujeres. The crossing takes about 45 minutes and runs on a limited daytime schedule.
