Evenings on Isla Mujeres are relaxed and walkable, with beach clubs on Playa Norte by day and live music along Avenida Hidalgo at night. Salsa, rock and reggae bands play most nights in downtown and Punta Sur venues, and the municipal esplanade hosts free concerts during carnival and the August founding festival. The north shore faces west, so sunset is a daily social ritual.
