Data controller
The River Plate S.A. de C.V., doing business as Playa Realtors, with address at Calle 34 Local 3 entre 10 y 20 avenida, Centro, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, 77710, Mexico, is responsible for the processing of your personal data under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP). Contact: hola@playarealtors.co | +1 954-799-4141.
1. Personal data we process
Through this website and its forms: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, language preference and the content of your message, as well as browsing data (IP address, cookies and analytics). We do not collect sensitive personal data through this website.
If you enter into a real estate transaction with us, we will also collect the data required by Mexico’s anti-money laundering law (LFPIORPI): official ID, tax ID, address and, where applicable, beneficial owner information. This is collected in person during the transaction, not through the website.
2. Purposes
Necessary purposes (no consent required, as they derive from the service relationship or a legal obligation): responding to and following up on your inquiry; coordinating visits and appointments; providing the real estate advisory and brokerage services you request; and complying with legal obligations, including client identification under anti-money laundering rules.
Purposes that require your consent: sending newsletters, property information and marketing communications. You may decline these without affecting the handling of your inquiry, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to hola@playarealtors.co.
3. Technology service providers (data processors)
Your data is hosted and processed by technology providers acting on behalf of Playa Realtors under confidentiality obligations: customer relationship management (CRM), email delivery, website analytics and messaging channels. Some of these providers are located outside Mexico (mainly in the United States). This constitutes processing on our behalf, not a transfer to third parties.
4. Transfers
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share data with third parties in these cases: with notary publics, professional advisors or the counterparty of a transaction, when necessary for the real estate transaction you requested; and with competent authorities when required by law. These cases do not require your consent under the law. Any other transfer will be submitted for your acceptance beforehand; you may object at any time by writing to hola@playarealtors.co.
Text messaging (SMS). If you provide your mobile number and consent to receive text messages from Playa Realtors, we use it only to respond to your inquiry and to send real estate information you requested. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time.
5. Your rights (access, rectification, cancellation, objection)
You may exercise your ARCO rights, revoke your consent or request limits on the use or disclosure of your data by writing to hola@playarealtors.co, including your full name, a reply method, a copy of your official ID and the right you wish to exercise. We will respond within 20 business days and, where applicable, implement the decision within the following 15 business days.
6. Retention
Contact data is kept while there is an active relationship or until you request its deletion. Transaction files subject to anti-money laundering law are kept for 10 years as required by law; deletion is not available for that data during that period.
Data security. We protect personal data with administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) on our website, access restricted to authorized staff who need it to serve you, and secure, password-protected systems operated by our technology providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects it.
7. Cookies and tracking technologies
This site uses its own cookies and analytics tools to measure site usage and improve your experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may be affected.
8. Changes to this notice
Any changes will be published on this page with the update date shown at the top. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
9. Authority
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you may file a complaint with Mexico’s Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, the competent data protection authority for the private sector.
